But it makes for a great hiding spot.
Some of the clothing I bought for Kabaale was given to my foster son, Jack, as soon as he moved in. I kind of forgot about the sweaters since it is generally too warm for sweaters. One sweater was bought specifically for Kabaale which had a soccer ball on the front. It was very symbollic, to me, as it really represented how much I thought of Kabaale.
Yesterday, Jack found the soccer sweater.
At first, it was a little difficult seeing that sweater being worn. It reminded me of the countless years I spent working on African adoptions, the thousands of dollars which were swindled from me, and all the hope which I had which was dashed.
But you know what?
It is only a sweater.
And Jack loved it so much that he wore it yesterday afternoon and asked me to wash it last night so he could wear it today. Which I did.
Kabaale will never wear the sweater but another little boy adores it.
p.s. The Adoption agency has filed for bankruptcy and is now saying they don't have enough funds to even make it worth distributing to the 30 people they owe money to.
