A lot of you have wondered about my updates for the adoption.
My agency has stated that if I don't have my dossier to them by November 1st, Kabaale will be reassigned. I've been working hard on my homestudy which is the major part of the dossier. Immigration has been paid, I've given them all the paperwork but the homestudy... immigration takes a while to finish up but I am HOPING that since they've started my case that I can have a speedy process. Fingers crossed!
By the end of this weekend, I want everything I need done for the home study finished.
However, unless by a miracle USCIS gets my paperwork and gets it done SUPER fast, I won't be done by November 1st.
I'm still a few thousand dollars short with fundraising, but I'm working on that.
Without USCIS acceptance and the homestudy done in less than a month, he'll be reassigned potentially. Now, I could easily find out that no one is interested in adopting him and I'm reassigned to Kabaale.
If not Kabaale, then another kid will be assigned.
Its hard to accept, I guess, especially since I COULD have gotten things done faster.
But I'm doing my best.
If I get the dossier (USCIS paperwork and my homestudy) sent to my agency, then its a few weeks or a few months before traveling to Uganda still.
