My homestudy is moving along. I have had my background check finished and I passed---my letters of reference have been sent to my friends and family---and my homestudy writer has contacted me about writing my paperwork up.
I got a list of behaviors and issues which I have to decide upon. There are many issues regarding sexually acting out, alcohol and drug use, lying, stealing, sexual abuse, etc.
It is a lot to think about.
Regardless of what I place on my list as far as behaviors and issues which I will accept, I will be potentially offered children of various combinations of troubles.
Sometimes I think it would be easier to just start with a baby or have a surrogate. However, a baby could have those same issues too as he or she grows up... And I don't think it is right for me to raise a baby right now with my work and family situation.
There are no guarantees with children whether biological or adoptive. At least in this case, I get some warning labels.
It is a little overwhelming.
I wonder if children should get a warning label about my house too?
WARNING: This Father and Home are not perfect. Both have issues. The roof needs to be replaced. The yard needs work. The Father is new to all of this. But inside you'll get a lot of love, plenty to eat, nice clothes, but you'll be expected to be as patient and accepting of this house and father as he will be to you.
